Reader makes it easy to view documents, search for words and phrases, take notes, fill in forms, and print or share files. Also note that this app would be retired for Windows 10 Fall Creators Update 2017 and later. We recommend Microsoft Edge for reading PDF, Windows XPS Viewer for XPS and Windows Photos App for TIFF files. Microsoft Reader is designed to make your onscreen reading experience as close as possible to reading a printed book. In addition, it adds active reading capabilities, instant access to content. Windows Reader is basic but that's its beauty. Microsoft doesn't want Windows Reader to compete with Adobe Acrobat Pro or other PDF viewers/editors. It is just there as feature for the consumer. Overall, Windows Reader is a stable, snappy, and intuitive PDF viewer. Most consumers should be satisfied enough with its feature set. Microsoft Edge comes with a built-in PDF reader that lets you open your local pdf files, online pdf files, or pdf files embedded in web pages. You can annotate these files with ink and highlighting. This PDF reader gives users a single application to meet web page and PDF document needs.
